Share the love with family, friends and partners this Valentine’s/Palentine’s/Galentine’s Day, with plenty of events and activities taking place across Wimbledon from 13th February.

If the way to their heart is through the stomach then dine out at intimate venues across Wimbledon such as Grilandia, now serving a delicious Valentine’s Day set menu. Cosy up with blankets on the beautifully-lit pergola at Lu-Ma and listen to the soothing sounds of live saxophone at their Valentine’s Supperclub. As you arrive you will be handed a love potion cocktail, followed by a candlelit three-course meal.

Laugh it up with a pal at CMYK’s Late Gay Valentine’s Comedy Show on Tuesday 15th February from 9-11pm, or join award-winning cabaret artist Aidan Sadler for some self-love at an Anti-Valentine’s Gay night on Thursday 17th February from 8pm.

Be a part of a dance flashmob with the family or enjoy a party-style boogie at new FREE dance workshops at Centre Court Studio. From 2-3pm on Valentine’s Day, enjoy a 30-minute Zumba party workshop followed by a 30-minute choreography session to learn a short flashmob sequence. Adults, groups, children and even small babies (pre-crawlers) are invited to have a wonderful experience together. Details are available here.

February 2022 Half-Term Events in Wimbledon

Looking for something to do with the kids this half term? Wimbledon is filled with workshops and activities that are sure to delight children of all ages!


art-K Wimbledon are hosting a combination of 2-hour and full-day art courses to inspire creativity in the young through projects working with paper sculpture, clay, design, mixed media, watercolour and acrylics. Each project is individual and at the end of the session, children will go home with a finished piece of artwork. Projects for this half-term will include producing clay turtles, fairytale illustration, collages and more. Teens (11-15-year-olds) can benefit from a structured, specifically catered introduction to the gym, with Better Leisure Wimbledon’s Junior Gym. Keep them active, burn off some energy and improve their confidence in the water, with a range of swimming activities suited for all ages, between Monday 14th – Friday 18th February 2022. Take on a Swim School Crash Course, designed to teach essential swimming skills to children aged 4 years and over, or enjoy a ‘Swim For All’ session with all the family. Find out more here.

Entertainment, Dance & Storytelling

Take part in storytelling, drama and movement workshops, and enjoy accompanying productions Ready, Steady, Go and The Singing Mermaid (pictured below) at Polka Theatre. Make a day of it and enjoy the new outdoor play area, find a little haven of greenness at the Wimbledon Foundation Garden or do some colouring and reading in the Y C Chan Play Den.

The new Centre Court Studio, located in Centre Court Shopping Centre, will be offering a free ‘Love To Dance’ workshop on Valentine’s Day from 1-2pm, for kids aged 7-12 years old. Learn from an established choreographer who will be fusing jazz, contemporary and commercial dance into a 45-minute workshop, followed by 15 minutes of Valentine’s crafts. Younger children are welcome for the free crafts and ‘Love to Boogie’ workshop for adults available from 2-3pm. Find out more and book here.

Catch entertaining animation films like Clifford, Aladdin and Encanto at The Odeon Wimbledon or the spectacular musical comedy The Addams Family at New Wimbledon Theatre.

SEND Activities

Children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), aged from 4-7 years old, can take part in fun and interactive multi-sport sessions hosted by OT Play. Wimbledon Library hosts a unique jungle theme, with sensory equipment and specialist SEND book stock, specially adapted toys and equipment that can be borrowed. All you need is a special SEND library card. Multiple Wins for Wimbledon at Food & Culture Awards 2022

A huge congratulations to the 17 businesses in Wimbledon Town Centre, who have received shining recognition in Time & Leisure’s Food & Culture Awards 2022, putting Wimbledon firmly on the map as a destination for dining, cultural events and theatres. 

This year marked the 10th year of the Time & Leisure Food & Culture awards, which are dedicated to celebrating world-class food, drink and culture in South West London and Surrey, as well as recognising the talented and passionate people who make up our hospitality and arts industries. Over 10,000 votes were cast and ambassadors for this year’s awards included top chefs Adam Byatt and Marcus Wareing.
