We are in regular contact with the Public Health Department and the Merton Council Business Support teams to monitor Coronavirus in the town centre. Should any indication of a rising incident level occur, Love Wimbledon will promptly communicate actions required by the business community.
Making Your Workplace Covid-19 Secure
HSE (Health and Safety Executive) provide a clear breakdown of how to make your workplace Covid-19 secure. This includes: conducting risk assessments, reducing contact between people, improving ventilation to reduce the risk of virus transmission and protecting particularly vulnerable employees from coronavirus. Find out more here. In addition, follow the updated government working safely guidance.
We’ve put together tips for office-based businesses, taken from local office design and build experts Peldon Rose, on considerations for your workspace. For more information, click here.
Covid-19 Workplace Testing
The government advises each individual to do a rapid lateral flow test twice a week (every 3 – 4 days) to check if they have the virus, even if they don’t have symptoms, as this can help control the spread. Note: some businesses and organisations have their own testing protocols.
You can order rapid tests online to be delivered to your home or collect tests from the testing centre on the lower level of Centre Court Shopping.
These are only for use if there are no symptoms. Anyone with symptoms should book a PCR test and stay at home.
Reporting an Outbreak of Covid-19 in your Organisation
If there is an outbreak in your workplace then you should take the following steps:
- Identify the source of the possible or confirmed case(s)
- Report it to Public Health England Health Protection Team (PHE HPT)
- Respond according to the advice received by PHE HPT
Please ensure that you are up-to-date on government guidance regarding Coronavirus. This includes:
- How to protect yourself and others from Coronavirus (e.g. wash hands, cover face and make space).
- What to do if you have Coronavirus symptoms (e.g. how to get tested, NHS test and trace, what to do if you’re told to self-isolate, and more).
