Healthy Workplaces in Wimbledon
Wimbledon businesses work hard in today’s climate to provide a strong offer to attract employees. Wimbledon has a number of employers who have proven themselves to be strong employers through their awards and recognition in The Sunday Times Top 100 small businesses to work for, A Great Place to Work UK, Top 10 Inclusive Employer and the Merton Best Business Awards. These award-winning and engaged businesses include:
We’re thrilled to be recognised by the Merton Best Business Awards, having always been a Wimbledon-based company. From our small beginnings, it’s great to be winning awards as a bigger enterprise, such as Best Business Over 50 Employees. Our team has grown rapidly over the past few years, but we value each and every member and are delighted to be awarded for our health and wellbeing efforts as well.

A happy working environment is key to commercial success which is why we believe in creating a happy work space, investing in tech, encouraging friendships and work and boosting company culture.
You don’t have to be an award-winning business to participate in creating a healthy workplace. Many of our BID businesses engage in initiatives including Mental Health Awareness Week, Employee Wellbeing, Menopause at Work and other national campaigns. Others offer staff initiatives such as gym memberships, yoga, pilates and meditation classes, Mental Health First Aiders, Long-Wednesday lunches as well as providing fresh fruit for staff on a weekly basis. BID businesses demonstrating strong engagement in these areas include:
- Close Brothers
- Morrisons Solicitors
- Domestic & General

Benefits to You
By working closely with Merton Chamber of Commerce, we are able to provide reduced rate training, workshops and networking opportunities for staff. Love Wimbledon also provides the employee only Privilege card for all your employees offering reduced rates and discounts at around 50 businesses.
We place a huge emphasis on ensuring our consultants have a good work-life balance and the Love Wimbledon Privilege Card helps us achieve this. Being entitled to a card means that our team can make the most of the local area, whether they’re new and just getting to know Wimbledon, or looking for somewhere affordable to eat on one of our long Wednesday lunches.
We also encourage businesses to think about their environmental impact, by increasing their recycling, reducing their use of single-use plastics and defining other green policies that are appropriate to their company, such as employing local staff. We work in partnership with Sustainable Merton and Healthy Dialogues who offer a selection of consultancy services empowering businesses to champion sustainable health and wellbeing. Follow our Events page to see upcoming workshops, training and networking events on these topics.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Linking businesses to charities and local causes also provides a positive initiative that is proven to improve staff retention and by providing introductions and promoting local charities ourselves we can assist the business community to celebrate it’s contribution to the local community. See the list of local charities within the BID area. If you would like more information or to be introduced to one of these charities please contact email@example.com or call 020 8619 2012.
