Free WEEE Collection:
22 April

Love Wimbledon has teamed up with award-winning recycling company, First Mile to offer BID businesses FREE quarterly collections of Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

All your unwanted electrical items will be recycled, including those containing hazardous materials. Items which can be collected include:

  • Keyboards
  • Computers
  • Laptops
  • Telephones
  • TVs
  • Printers
  • Fridges

The next WEEE collection will be on Wednesday 22 January. Bookings must be made by Friday 17 April.

Booking is simple – just call First Mile on 0800 612 9894 or email customers@thefirstmile.co.uk. When booking please supply the following information:

  • Business name & address
  • Pictures of the items
  • Best contact on site (Name, Number & Email)

Note: for this collection, there is a maximum of 5 Large WEEE items (e.g. 5 desktop monitors) which can be collected.

Emergency First Aid at Work:

This Emergency First Aid at Work is a HSE Approved Course, and is ideal for workplaces that present few health and safety risks.

What you will learn?

Basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations.

Course Content

  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Managing an incident
  • The priorities of first aid
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation
  • Shock
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Bleeding
  • Common workplace injuries.
  • Assessment and certification – continuous assessment by trainer

This Fire Warden Marshal Training course is aimed at those employees within the organisation who have a key role to play within the management of Fire Safety in the Workplace.

  • The course is tailored as a generic course and will include the following:
    The Legal Requirement
    The Triangle of Fire
    Types and Causes of Fire
    Extinguishing Fire
    Basic Fire Prevention
    Actions to be taken in the Event of Fire
    Fire Extinguishers
    Checking Fire Fighting Equipment within your Workplace
    Escape Routes and their Importance
    Fire Notices and Signs
    Assembly Points and Role Calls
    Proactive Fire Prevention
    Proactive and Reactive Role of a Fire Warden/Marshal
    You will be able to undertake a practical demonstration; allowing you to extinguish different types of Fire, using Fire Extinguishers on our Environmentally Friendly Fire Simulators.

Who will benefit from this course?
Any individual who has a responsibility for Fire Safety; anyone who requires guidance on work place fire safety and anyone who requires their staff to have an in-depth Fire Safety Awareness.
