Wimbledon Town Centre Reaches a New Design Pinnacle

Planning permission has been given for a major refurbishment to take place at Pinnacle House right in the Heart of Wimbledon Town Centre.

Located on Hartfield Road, Pinnacle House was first constructed back in 1990. Twenty five years later, exciting plans are now underway at Pinnacle House to transform, modernise and further strengthen the quality of office space in Wimbledon Town Centre. An exciting refurbishment has started to see the erection of three additional floors which in total will create a floor area of 5,635 square meters; this is a 1,756 Square meter increase. This allows for business growth and the creation of new job opportunities.

The exterior will feature gold aluminium panels which will lighten as the building gets higher, the building will boast a new and improved open entrance with widened steps. This attention to detail and strong contemporary design will heighten the interest of the building visually.

The recently refurbished Mansel Court on Mansel Road boasted an energy efficient design and Pinnacle House will follow suit with materials being implemented for the refurbishment that will preserve energy. Also with the removal of the existing roof to introduce a brand new green roof, it’s contributing to a greener Town Centre. A green terrace will also be introduced for the office tenants to enjoy as a breakout area.

A cyclist’s entrance is to be introduced where 60 brand new cycle racks will be installed.

Aviva Investors aim with Pinnacle House is to set a new benchmark in first class office space for the area which in turn creates a destination for future businesses to Wimbledon Town Centre. This future started with the newly refurbished Wimbledon Bridge House, the next step is the development of Pinnacle House to enhance the new premium office space that Wimbledon currently has and that it is the ideal office location to meet a business needs.

Helen Clark Bell, BID Manager said ‘ We are seeing much of our office stock being upgraded. This has a positive affect on new businesses being attracted to the town centre. With the potential development of other key sites in the town centre over the coming years, we expect to see continued businesses growth in Wimbledon’.

Eligo proud winners at the Merton Best Business Awards!

Eligo Recruitment are extremely pleased to announce they have been awarded Best Business in SW19 and Best Enterprising Business at 2015’s Merton Best Business Awards.

Celebrating a very successful and entertaining night showcasing Merton’s wide array of excellent business, the Merton Best Awards were the best yet, with so many high quality businesses in attendance celebrating the tremendous achievements of every one that had made it to the final stages.

Announcing the Best Business in SW19 award, Diana Sterck, CEO of the Merton Chamber of Commerce, said that “SW19 is a globally recognised brand, making this a prestigious title for any winner”. We’re extremely proud to further be awarded with the title of Best Enterprising Business, presented by event sponsors Close Brothers.
Eligo has humble beginnings; starting off with two young recruiters who were tired of working for businesses that cared little for their staff, clients, or candidates. With that in mind they started a business which provides a professional recruitment service with no compromise on quality or integrity, where people enjoy coming to work, and success leads to sustainable organic growth.
Andrew Molloy, Co-founder of Eligo, emphasised this, adding “we have since grown into a company with six divisions and over 30 individuals who love their job and have passion and knowledge for their respective markets. As such we are particularly proud of this recognition of our entrepreneurial nature, caring for our staff, input into the local community, and success.”

Eligo strives to be innovative and is delighted that endeavours in such areas have been recognised and commended, with particular highlights including;
• The launch of Eligo Academy – Eligo recognise the wealth of young talent the local area has to offer. We set up Eligo Academy in order to harness and nurture this talent, particularly apprentices, graduates, and returning-to-work parents.

• The introduction of a brand new market-changing recruitment service, Eligo IQ – Billed as “the intelligent recruitment process”, this service includes a multi-media candidate behavioural assessment and presentation tool that will enable our clients to engage in a full 360 recruitment service, significantly saving both time and money.

• Company culture and management style – Eligo are proud of the culture instilled here, having first set up the company in order to create a workplace where people would enjoy coming to work every day and could feel confident in following their ideas in order to achieve success.

The Merton Best Awards were an excellent celebration of the Merton area and the local businesses in it. Eligo value the great job all involved do, and would like to thank the Merton Chamber of Commerce for putting on such a wonderful event, Love Wimbledon for their continuous support, and all of our staff, clients, and candidates, who continually make us the business we are today. We’d also like to extend our congratulations to all the other winners of awards, Merton truly is a great place for business.

Eligo Recruitment are a Wimbledon-based Recruitment Agency with six divisions across the Fire & Security, Medical, Technology, Digital, Events, and Energy sectors. To find out more about Eligo, visit their website here.

New Government Plastic Bag Legislation

From the 5th October, larger retailers must charge at least 5p for new single use carrier bags. Please remember to take a re-useable bag with you to avoid getting caught out.

It is hoped the levy will cut the 7.6bn bags given to shoppers at major supermarkets every year, and retailers are expected to spend the money raised from the charge on good causes.

England is the last part of the UK to start charging for plastic bags. The number of plastic bags given out by seven major supermarkets in England rose by 200 million in 2014 to exceed 7.6 billion – the equivalent of 140 per person and amounting to 61,000 tonnes in total.
