Safer Business Network Webinars

Safer Business Network run webinars every Wednesday, providing free training and information to businesses on a complex range of issues they may face on a daily basis.

The webinars will range from training sessions to panel discussions with industry experts and will cover a variety of topics based on the needs of members and current crime trends.

  • Reopening Webinar (Step 4): Wednesday 9th June 2021, 14:00-15:30
    As we prepare for the release of lockdown, and gradual reduction in restrictions, it is important that businesses are supported to navigate regulations and re-open safely – allowing them to adapt in the new COVID-19 world. This webinar will cover:
    – Current Government Regulations (relevant to the appropriate “Step”)

  • Dealing with Suspicious Items: Wednesday 16th June 2021, 10:30-12:00

    This session will cover how to identify and deal with suspicious items.
    Including:
    – Identifying component parts of an IED
    – The key stages of an explosion (blast effect)
    – Recognising the common chemicals used to make home-made explosives (HME)
    – How to report suspicious activity
    – Response protocols and procedures (HOT, 4 Cs, cordon distances)

Brexit: Check, Change, Go

The end of the Brexit transition period on 31st December 2020 will affect the day-to-day operations of many Wimbledon businesses.

You can identify the actions you need to undertake through the dedicated government web portal, including the points-based immigration system, which may affect your recruitment.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is hosting free live and recorded webinars to help businesses check the new rules and understand the actions they need to take.
