A New Space to Sit, Eat, Play & Relax

Welcome to Hartfield Walk – a new space in the heart of Wimbledon Town Centre. Hartfield Walk offers a chance to reimagine what small, underused spaces can do for our environment and our communities. Whether it is to sit and enjoy a coffee first thing in the morning, read a book in the afternoon sunshine, grab a bite for lunch, or learn about the environment. Please note, the space is not yet complete.

Created by Love Wimbledon and Firecracker Works. Funded by Merton Council. Bike racks funded by All England Lawn and Tennis Club.

Reclaimed Seating

Carefully repurposed with the environment in mind, the seating in Hartfield Walk is reclaimed oak from the lock gates of the Grand Union Canal. Read more about the sustainable design here.

Plant Abundance

We have over 50 different pollinating and purifying plants in Hartfield Walk. Species such as Amelanchier and Betula combat pollution whilst others attract pollinators, such as bees. Read more about the plants here.

Sustainable Champions

Eco-messaging around the space – see what you can find. Have a go on the hopscotch, count Wombles or bees, and learn all about different elements.
