Sustainable September

Creating a greener and more sustainable town centre is one of the three strategic priorities we outlined to you in our 5-year business plan. Following on from several green interventions in the public realm that we continue to manage to enhance the town centre’s look and feel, we have seen a real step forward in our efforts with our business community, including our “Succeeding In Sustainability” masterclass and several educational sustainability events. We ran a month-long programme of activities in collaboration with Go Inspire and Wimbledon Quarter, including panel talks and workshops, a kilo-sale, Wimbledon Sustainable Fashion Week and a dedicated Sustainable Market, bringing pre-loved fashion, new stallholders and The Wombles to our regular programme of market activities.

Business Climate Challenge

In 2022, Love Wimbledon secured GLA funding for Mayor Sadiq Khan’s Business Climate Challenge. This aided 5 businesses—Coty UK, Peldon Rose, Harnham, Iglu, and Plus Four—in reducing carbon emissions. They received energy audits and consultancy from WSP and Turner Townsend, alongside access to IO-Gen Energy management platform for tracking progress. Wimbledon’s Sustainable Transport Network

We are the only train, tube and tram interface in London, and see over 10 million trips through Wimbledon Station every year. Love Wimbledon works to ensure our town centre supports sustainable transport, but we need your help too! Encourage your teams to use public transport to travel into work, bring their own reusable cups for their morning coffee and use the recycling bins around town; it really makes a difference to our town.

We list all shops, pubs, venues and restaurants that will fill up your water bottle. Join them in reducing plastic bottle use by signing up your business. Get your business listed on the refill app.
