Platinum Jubilee Installation
See if you can spot the town centre installations to commemorate the Queen’s reign – congratulations Your Majesty!
To celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Love Wimbledon has created an installation to engage the community. With a royal and sustainability theme, lasting throughout the summer, find 5 large plinths dotted around Wimbledon in fun jubilee-inspired shapes (a corgi, crown and more!).
One plinth has been designed with the assistance of local schoolchildren, who were winners of our recent children’s art competition. In keeping with the Jubilee theme of ‘Plant A Tree For The Jubilee’, children under 16 were tasked with developing an environmentally-inspired design around the question ‘What do you love about trees and what do they do for the planet?’. The two winning images have been reinterpreted by an artist for our planet shaped plinth, which has pride and place in the town centre.
