Sustainable September - Returning for 2024!

Sustainable September is back and we’re excited to bring you a huge range of refreshing, creative and inspirational events and activities, including sustainable fashion shows, fabulous talks, repair pop-ups, demonstrations, urban farm tours and our incredibly popular Sustainable Market on The Piazza. And it’s all free!

Doing the Right Thing

We would like to see more greenery in Wimbledon Town Centre, less traffic and improved air-quality. We offer our businesses green energy and affordable recycling services and a number of years ago introduced a ban on single-use plastic in our markets. We look at ways to help visitors make greener choices, through transport, through refilling their bottles or improved waste collection. We’ve started this journey and will keep visitors and businesses informed as we go greener.

Spreading Awareness

As we start the sustainability journey, it is about sharing learnings, promoting good practice and trying something new. That’s when different businesses like Wimbledon Quarter really come into play, with their Rooftop Urban Farm (think mushrooms and honey) or the new green roof at the Travelodge Hotel.
