From arts and culture to sports and leisure, take your pick from a range of fun activities across Wimbledon this May half term!
Grab your seats at Polka Theatre and enjoy the shows! There’s the laugh-out-loud, toe-tapping Tortoise and the Hare, an original musical featuring puppetry and hijinks, ideal for 3-7 year olds. And the gorgeous funky fairytale, The Rapping Princess, for lovers of ALL music, ideal for 3-8 year olds.
Polka is also running a number of workshops suitable for all age groups, including Mini Beatbox (0-4 years), Create an Epic Fable (5-8 years), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Drama Masterclass (8-12 years).
New Wimbledon Theatre is staging the smash-hit West End production of Annie, the world’s favourite family musical, starring Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan.
And Odeon Wimbledon has all the movie genres covered – action, comedy, teen romance, animation…and more! Plus with Odeon Kids Screenings, families can buy children’s tickets from just £1.
Playful pups and peaceful poses come together at Puppy Yoga Wimbledon, for a tail-wagging, soul-soothing experience. Participants must be at least 8 years old, and 8-15 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
Burn off that half-term energy at Holistic Fitness, which has a range of specialist martial arts classes for kids, from Lil’ Dragons (4-7 years) to KidsZone (8-12 years), to help them develop co-ordination, confidence and co-operation. FREE trial classes are available.
Little Gym Wimbledon has a packed week of half-term holiday camps and a Babies and Toddlers First festival. Non-members are welcome and no prior experience is needed. There’s also the option to book flexi-drop off and pick-up times.
And remember, there are always FREE swim sessions available for kids at all the Better Leisure Centres in Merton, including Wimbledon. Click here for full details of days and times.
Pop into Pitter Potter Café, Wimbledon’s brand new paint-your-own pottery studio and choose from over 150 shapes to personalise! Friendly staff in a welcoming environment open to artists of all ages, with water-based non-toxic paint which is safe for kids to use. Pitter Potter also offers clay imprints of babies’ hand and foot prints (booking required).
Art-K’s holiday workshops for children aged 6-16 are a combination of half day and full day courses. Explore projects working with paper sculpture, clay, design, mixed media, watercolour and acrylics. Every student works on their own individual project – at the end of the session they’ll go home with a finished piece of artwork!
