Pre-loved is the new love – Explore Wimbledon Charity Shops Today!

We are lucky enough to have five really popular charity shops in the heart of Wimbledon Town Centre.  So as part of Sustainable September we’ve been connecting with these essential businesses who are a crucial part of our High Street to find out more about their businesses. Remember, they are always looking for good quality donations – time for a clear out before Christmas?

Oxfam were one of the pioneers of post-second world war charity shops and we are lucky enough to have one on The Broadway just opposite Uniqlo. They have a range of pre-loved clothes and bric a brac including toys, games and homewares with their own range of ethical products. As a global movement their aim to end poverty and everything you donate and buy at our shop will help to achieve that.
Scope aim to create an equal future, with disabled people, campaigning for change while providing information and support, they have their own awards as well.
Karen Robinson, Assistant Shop Manager said “We’re a friendly team and our shop, opposite the Wimbledon Theatre, is filled with amazing bargains from pre-loved, new and vintage fashions to homeware. Come in and say hello!” We sure will Karen!
South West London’s Royal Trinity Hospice provide specialist end of life care across London, helping patients and their families make the most of every moment they have left. The 23 Royal Trinity Hospice charity shops raise around a third of the funds needed to continue delivering the hospice’s free care every year. The Wimbledon store feels like a designer’s studio, with an incredible range of upmarket brands – it’s worth a browse.
Just outside Wimbledon Station sits the compact and bustling British Heart Foundation shop.  They sell a tremendous range of second-hand clothes (and some great shoes!) for such a small shop PLUS books, toys and homeware. Anything bought here will help future treatments and cures for heart and circulatory conditions and fund research.
Cancer Research UK formed more than 20 years ago and Wimbledon has one of their 600 shops around the country.  They have clothing for all the family, homeware and accessories and as it says on their website remember that each bag of donations you provide, they are worth on average £25 to them! So get donating!
So whatever you are doing this September – how about being more sustainable and shopping pre-loved?
Charity Shop Catwalk – NEW FOR 2025
Friday 12th September in Wimbledon Quarter
Don’t forget you can get a taste of the Wimbledon charity shop fashion collections at this year’s Wimbledon Fashion Week; the Charity Shop Collection has been handpicked by London stylists using only clothes from these shops demonstrating that you can look just as good in second hand as new! Each charity shop will be presenting three collections highlighting the range of contemporary and vintage wear that can be found in Wimbledon Town Centre. The aim is to not only promote pre-loved fashion but to support the shops attracting more customers into their market.
