Cycling in/around Wimbledon Town Centre has never been easier!
Cycle Lessons
Want to feel more confident about cycling to work, cycling for fun or for family outings? Merton Council run FREE cycling lessons in collaboration with Cycle Instructor. You can register here for individual or group lessons if you work or live in Merton.
Cycleways
The newly installed cycle ramps on Alt Grove Bridge allow cyclists to push their bikes easily and safely up the stairwells before continuing their cycle. This provides a simpler connection between the residential Dundonald area and Wimbledon Town Centre, and is particularly useful during these times, with more people opting to walk or cycle. It also connects to a cycle path that leads directly to Kingston! Click here for more information about cycle lanes and routes across Merton, including a map.
Cycle Schemes
The Government have invested in two cycling initiatives to promote alternative ways to travel:
- Fix Your Bike Voucher Scheme: allows you to subsidise the cost of repairing your bicycle. Find out more here.
- Cycle to Work Scheme: purchase bikes and cycling accessories through your employer, by spreading the cost over 12 months and savings through tax breaks. Evans Cycles in Wimbledon Town Centre is an accredited provider. Find out more
Cycle Parking
We’ve highlighted larger cycle racks, although there is plenty of off-street cycle parking throughout the town centre (250+ spots). Plus, you’ll find indoor bicycle storage in Wimbledon Station – for those inevitably wet days in Wimbledon!
