With speedy public transport connections, it’s easy to travel in/from Wimbledon.
Travel Safely
1. Remember to plan your journey in advance and follow TfL’s Safer Travel Guidance.
- Wear a face covering
- Maintain social distancing
- Wash or sanitise your hands before and after traveL
- Use contactless payment, if possible
- Avoid peak travel times where possible; quiet times at Wimbledon Station are from 09:15 – 16:45 and after 18:45. You can check the status of Wimbledon Station underground lines here and trains here.
2. FREE hand sanitiser is available in Wimbledon station, the station forecourt and on The Piazza.
3. Travelling by bus?
Remember that buses have maximum capacity limits, so you may be refused entry. Ensure that bus windows are kept open to ensure a good supply of fresh air and board your bus through the front door as usual. You must remain seated on buses at all times so that people can use all the space on both decks, while maintaining social distance.
4. Travelling by train?
At some stations there will be queuing, and one-way systems in place. When waiting for a train, spread out along the platform and wait for others to get off before you get on. On the train, sit apart from others whenever you can (except for people from the same household).
Note: new Flexi Season tickets are available to those adopting flexible working patterns.
4. Opt to walk or cycle to/from Wimbledon, where possible.
5. Use the new TfL Go app to help you plan the best route, including cycling and walking. Includes live updates on all Tube, Tram, DLR, London Overground and TfL Rail lines.
