A local award-winning social enterprise is calling on Wimbledon businesses to help shape the future workforce by offering meaningful work experience and industry insight opportunities to young women across Merton and surrounding boroughs.
Ms Independent Careers has supported more than 7,000 young women over the past seven years, building career confidence, employability skills, and real-world awareness through innovative programmes delivered both in schools and beyond the classroom.
The organisation delivers two core initiatives:
-
A school and college-based programme focused on essential career development skills, workplace readiness, and confidence-building.
-
An external industry insight programme providing hands-on experience, employer engagement, and exposure to diverse career pathways.
Working closely with local schools, colleges, and universities, Ms Independent Careers has built strong links between education and industry.
Local employers have played a key role in delivering impactful experiences. Organisations include Domestic & General, Bebeto, Metro Bank and All England Lawn Tennis Club, among others — giving young women valuable exposure to sectors ranging from finance and consumer packaged goods to sport and corporate services.
Founded by social entrepreneur Zoe Garsh, Ms Independent Careers continues to expand its employer network to meet growing demand from students seeking practical local experience and clearer career pathways.
Businesses interested in partnering to offer work placements, insight days, mentoring, or skills workshops are encouraged to get involved. Contact Zoe at info@msindependent.co.uk.
