Footfall Up, Strategic Aims Advancing and BID Renewal Focus
We’re pleased to share the highlights from our 2025 Annual Report, a year in which Wimbledon Town Centre has continued to thrive. More businesses are choosing to locate here and we’ve made strong progress across our three strategic priorities: Creating Better Places, Spaces and Experiences, Promoting and Supporting Businesses and Becoming Greener and More Sustainable — all as we prepare for our upcoming BID renewal ballot.
Footfall and Economic Momentum
This year, we’ve seen footfall continue to grow, increasing by 3.4% with 13.3 million visitors in 2025. This bucks national trends, demonstrating the town centre’s appeal. More diverse businesses are choosing Wimbledon, and the momentum across retail, leisure, culture and hospitality shows our work promoting the town as a destination is paying off.
Feedback from local businesses continues to shape priorities, with a clear focus on cleanliness, safety, cost savings and maintaining a well-managed town centre. Love Wimbledon also plays a vital role as a collective voice for businesses, alongside delivering a varied programme of events that drive engagement.
The year ahead is particularly significant as it marks the run-up to Love Wimbledon’s renewal ballot, when businesses will be asked to vote to continue the BID and its work supporting Wimbledon Town Centre through to 2032.

Creating Better Places, Spaces & Experiences
We delivered more than 100 days of events and installations throughout 2025, from markets and festivals to seasonal displays like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Our team has effectively worked with partners to keep the town clean, well-maintained and welcoming, removing graffiti and maintaining public spaces so that everyone can enjoy a vibrant town centre.
Promoting and Supporting Local Business
Supporting our business community is at the heart of what we do. In 2025, our ranger completed over 3,000 business visits, and the Love Wimbledon Privilege Card offered over 100 exclusive deals, and the digital version is proving to be increasingly popular with users. We’ve also provided marketing support, awards sponsorship, networking opportunities and digital promotion to help businesses grow.
We’re particularly proud of our partnership with SEEDL, which offers a FREE online learning platform giving BID businesses unlimited access to more than 200 training courses, helping them build skills, boost productivity and thrive.
Greener, More Sustainable Wimbledon
Sustainability remains a top priority. Our Sustainable September initiative engaged the community and increased footfall by over 30%. Through our recycling and waste-management programmes, we have diverted hundreds of tonnes of materials from landfill, helping local businesses save money while supporting the environment.
We’ve also continued to invest in public realm improvements and biodiversity projects across the town centre, including enhanced planting and environmental schemes, creating a greener, more welcoming Wimbledon.
Love Wimbledon has also secured funding for public realm improvements, including Hartfield Walk enhancements, which will begin early 2026.
Looking Ahead Before Renewal Ballot
As we approach our BID renewal ballot in 2026, our focus remains on delivering high-quality events, supporting businesses, and creating sustainable, engaging spaces in Wimbledon Town Centre. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in 2025, and we’re committed to ensuring Wimbledon continues to be a place where businesses thrive, people visit, and communities engage.
